A Bit About Me

The Matrisse was born from a simple but powerful belief:

That women’s health deserves to be explored not only through medicine — but also through storytelling, identity, culture, research, technology, and human experience.

Founded by Rayo Apanari, The Matrisse exists at the intersection of women’s health, AI innovation, survivorship, advocacy, and future-focused healthcare conversations.

With a growing interest in digital health systems, ethical AI, and healthcare equity, Rayo’s work explores how emerging technologies can support more compassionate, culturally intelligent, and accessible healthcare experiences for women globally — particularly across underserved and historically overlooked communities.

Her vision for The Matrisse extends beyond editorial storytelling.

It is the foundation of a wider ecosystem exploring:

  • Women’s health advocacy

  • AI and healthcare innovation

  • Survivorship and wellbeing

  • Research and education

  • Identity, resilience, and cultural memory.

At the heart of The Matrisse is “The Twelve Queens” — a narrative series representing diverse healthcare experiences, social realities, and generational stories shaping modern womanhood.

Through these stories, The Matrisse seeks to humanise conversations often reduced to statistics, while creating space for dialogue around the future of healthcare systems and the people they serve.

Rayo’s long-term vision is to help contribute to a more inclusive and emotionally intelligent future for women’s healthcare — one that bridges innovation with humanity, and data with lived experience.

Because behind every healthcare system is a human story.

And every story deserves to be seen.

Welcome to The Matrisse.
